Richie Hawtin is a British-born, Canadian-raised electronic musician, DJ, and record producer known for his work in techno. Born in Banbury, England, in 1970 and raised in Windsor, Ontario, he became involved in the Detroit techno scene in the early 1990s and emerged as a key figure in minimal techno. He has released music under aliases including Plastikman and F.U.S.E., and co-founded the Plus 8 label with John Acquaviva in 1990. His catalog includes influential techno releases and DJ-focused projects that combine stripped-back rhythms, repetition, and digital production techniques.
