Screeching Weasel - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Screeching Weasel is an American punk rock band formed in 1986 in Prospect Heights, Illinois, a Chicago suburb, by Ben Weasel (vocals) and John Jughead (guitar). Originally named All Night Garage Sale, the band adopted its current name and released its debut album, Screeching Weasel, in 1987 on Underdog Records. Influenced by the Ramones, their style evolved into fast-paced pop-punk, characterized by short, energetic songs with snarky lyrics. The band experienced multiple breakups and reformations, signing to Lookout! Records in the early 1990s and releasing key albums including My Brain Hurts (1991), Ramones (a full-album cover, 1992), Anthem for a New Tomorrow (1993), and How to Make Enemies and Irritate People (1994). Ben Weasel has remained the constant member, with frequent lineup changes involving musicians like Dan Vapid and Dan Panic. They broke up in 2001 but reformed in 2009 without Jughead. Screeching Weasel is known for high-energy live performances, including extensive tours such as an eight-week U.S. tour with the Queers in 1993.
