Skrillex is the stage name of Sonny John Moore, a Los Angeles-born electronic music producer and DJ. He began his career in the mid-2000s as the lead singer of the post-hardcore band From First to Last before moving into solo electronic production under the Skrillex name in 2008–2009. His early releases helped define his aggressive, bass-heavy sound, and his 2010 EP Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites brought him broad recognition in the electronic music scene. His work spans dubstep, electro house, trap, and techno-adjacent electronic styles, and he has also collaborated with artists across pop and dance music. Skrillex is known as a live electronic act who performs DJ sets and festival appearances rather than conventional band shows. He has won multiple Grammy Awards and remains associated with large-scale electronic and dance music events.
