Suicidal Tendencies - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Suicidal Tendencies formed in 1981 in Venice, California, as a hardcore punk band led by vocalist Mike Muir, the only constant member. The band originated from the local skate and surf culture, blending punk with metal influences to pioneer crossover thrash. Their self-titled 1983 debut album featured the track 'Institutionalized,' which gained MTV rotation and became an anthem for youthful alienation. Evolving through lineup changes, including stints by Robert Trujillo, Brooks Wackerman, and current members like Dean Pleasants and Tye Trujillo, the band released key albums such as Join the Army (1987), The Art of Rebellion (1992), and World Gone Mad (2016). They earned gold records and Grammy nominations while incorporating thrash and funk elements. Known for high-energy live shows marked by aggression and their distinctive bandana-wearing style, Suicidal Tendencies drew crowds from punk, metal, and extreme sports scenes, though early performances faced bans due to violence reports.
