The Black Crowes are an American rock band formed in 1984 by brothers Chris Robinson (lead vocals) and Rich Robinson (guitar) in Marietta, Georgia. Originally called Mr. Crowe's Garden, they adopted their current name in 1989 after signing to Def American Recordings. Their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker (1990), reached number four on the Billboard 200 and produced hit singles including "Hard to Handle" and "She Talks to Angels." Their follow-up, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion (1992), topped the Billboard 200. The band's sound blends hard rock with blues and Southern rock influences. Throughout their career, they have released ten studio albums and multiple live recordings. The Robinson brothers reunited the band in 2020 after a hiatus, performing their debut album in full. Known for their energetic live performances, the band has maintained a rotating lineup while the Robinson brothers remain the creative core.
