The Breeders - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

The Breeders formed in 1989 in Boston, Massachusetts, by Kim Deal of Pixies and Tanya Donelly of Throwing Muses as a side project. The initial lineup included bassist Josephine Wiggs and drummer Britt Walford (credited as Shannon Doughton), with violinist Carrie Bradley. They signed to 4AD and released their debut album Pod in 1990, produced by Steve Albini. After lineup changes, including Donelly's departure and the addition of Kim's twin sister Kelley Deal on guitar and drummer Jim MacPherson, the band achieved commercial success with 1993's Last Splash, featuring the hit single 'Cannonball.' Subsequent albums include Title TK (2002) and Mountain Battles (2008). Kim Deal has remained the sole constant member. The Breeders are known for their alternative rock sound blending noisy guitars, melodic hooks, and lo-fi production. Live performances emphasize raw energy and the Deal sisters' harmonies, drawing from their Dayton, Ohio base.
