The Fixx is a rock band formed in London, England, in 1979 by vocalist Cy Curnin and drummer Adam Woods, initially as Portraits. The lineup soon included guitarist Jamie West-Oram, keyboardist Rupert Greenall, and bassist Charlie Barrett, later replaced by Dan K. Brown. They released their debut album Shuttered Room in 1982, featuring singles 'Stand or Fall' and 'Red Skies.' Their 1983 album Reach the Beach achieved double platinum status, with hits 'One Thing Leads to Another' (No. 4 on Billboard Hot 100), 'Saved by Zero,' and 'Sign of Fire.' Subsequent releases included Phantoms (1984) with 'Are We Ourselves?' and Walkabout (1986) with 'Secret Separation.' The band incorporated new wave elements into their rock sound and gained exposure on MTV. They have maintained the core lineup from Reach the Beach and continued releasing albums, including Elemental (1998) and Want This Life (2003). The Fixx are known for live performances that emphasize their atmospheric rock style and enduring catalog from the 1980s.
