The Motels - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

The Motels formed in 1971 in Berkeley, California, initially as The Warfield Foxes with Martha Davis on vocals and guitar, Dean Chamberlain on lead guitar, Chuck Wada on rhythm guitar, and Lisa Brenneis on bass. The band relocated to Los Angeles in 1975, changed its name to The Motels, and underwent lineup shifts before Davis reformed it in 1978 with Jeff Jourard on guitar, Marty Jourard on saxophone and keyboards, Michael Goodroe on bass, and Brian Glascock on drums. Classified as a New Wave band, they released their self-titled debut album in 1979, followed by Careful in 1980. Their 1982 album All Four One featured the singles 'Only the Lonely' and 'Suddenly, Last Summer,' both reaching #9 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band has released eight albums total and maintained activity with Davis as the constant member. The Motels are recognized for their live performances, touring extensively in the U.S. and Australia, including over 70 concerts by 2004.
