The Sounds - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

The Sounds are a Swedish indie rock band from Helsingborg, formed in 1998 by school friends including vocalist Maja Ivarsson, guitarist Felix Rodriguez, bassist Johan Bengtsson, and drummer Fredrik Nilsson. Their sound blends indie rock with new wave, post-punk revival, and synth-pop influences, often drawing comparisons to Blondie, The Cars, and Missing Persons. The band released its debut album, Living in America, in 2002 and followed it with albums including Dying to Say This to You and Crossing the Rubicon. Songs such as "Living in America," "Seven Days a Week," "Tony the Beat," "Painted by Numbers," and "No One Sleeps When I’m Awake" are among their better-known tracks. Live, The Sounds are known for fronted vocal performances and a style that combines guitars, keyboards, and upbeat retro-influenced arrangements.
