Thee Sacred Souls is a San Diego-based trio formed in 2019, consisting of vocalist Josh Lane, drummer Alex Garcia, and bassist Sal Samano. The band came together after Garcia and Samano met at a local show in 2018 and began jamming in Garcia's garage, bonding over Chicano soul and vintage soul records. Lane joined after connecting with Garcia through Instagram. Their self-titled debut album was released in 2022 on Daptone Records after the band's second live performance caught the attention of label co-founder Gabriel Roth. The group's sound blends 1960s soul and early 1970s R&B with contemporary production, drawing influence from artists like Marvin Gaye, the Delfonics, and Thee Midniters. Their debut generated millions of Spotify streams and attracted attention from major publications including Billboard and Rolling Stone. Since 2022, they have toured extensively across North America and Europe, performing sold-out shows. Their second album, "Got A Story To Tell," was released in 2024, recorded at Penrose Recorders in Riverside, California.
