Three Dog Night - Upcoming SoCal Concerts

Three Dog Night formed in Los Angeles in late 1967, initiated by vocalists Danny Hutton, Cory Wells, and Chuck Negron, who shared lead vocals. The lineup expanded with keyboardist Jimmy Greenspoon, bassist Joe Schermie, guitarist Michael Allsup, and drummer Floyd Sneed. The band's name derives from an Australian Aboriginal term for extremely cold nights, when three dogs were used for warmth. They specialized in rock with pop and soft rock elements, recording covers of songs by writers such as Harry Nilsson, Laura Nyro, and Hoyt Axton. Between 1969 and 1975, they achieved 21 Billboard Top 40 hits, including three number ones: 'Mama Told Me (Not to Come)' (1969), 'Joy to the World' (1971), and 'Black and White' (1972), each featuring a different lead singer. Their debut album, Three Dog Night (1969), reached number one with 'One.' The band maintains an active touring schedule, performing over 90 shows annually at theaters, festivals, and other venues, delivering sets focused on their hit songs.
