Thursday is an American post-hardcore band formed in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 1997 by vocalist Geoff Rickly, guitarist Tom Keeley, guitarist Bill Henderson, bassist Tim Payne, and drummer Tucker Rule. Henderson left in 2000 and was replaced by Steve Pedulla on rhythm guitar; keyboards player Andrew Everding joined in 2003. The band released their debut album Waiting in 1999 on Eyeball Records, followed by Full Collapse in 2001, which increased their visibility. Their major-label debut War All the Time (2003) reached number seven on the US Billboard 200. Subsequent albums include A City by the Light Divided (2006), Common Existence (2009), and No Devolución (2011). Thursday disbanded in 2012, reunited in 2016 for tours concluding in 2019, and released new material in 2024. They originated in the DIY basement show scene and are known for intense live performances blending jagged rhythms, screaming vocals, and emo influences.
