Tigers Jaw is an American rock band formed in Scranton, Pennsylvania, in 2005 by high school friends Ben Walsh and Adam McIlwee, with Walsh on drums and McIlwee on vocals and guitar. Brianna Collins joined soon after on keyboards and backing vocals. The band draws its name from a song by The Microphones and early influences include Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance. Their debut album, Belongs to the Dead, was released in 2006 on Summersteps Records, followed by the self-titled album in 2008 on Prison Jazz Records. In 2013, McIlwee, bassist Dennis Mishko, and drummer Pat Brier departed for personal reasons, leaving Walsh and Collins as the core duo, who continued with touring support from other bands. Notable releases include Two Worlds (2010), Charmer (2014, their final album with the original lineup), spin (2017), and I Won't Care How You Remember Me (2021). The band emerged from Scranton's DIY punk scene alongside acts like The Menzingers and Title Fight. Tigers Jaw maintains an active touring schedule, often performing at house shows, DIY venues, and regional circuits in their early years, evolving into full-time national tours post-2013.
