Triumph is a Canadian rock band formed in 1975 in Toronto, Ontario, by Rik Emmett, Gil Moore, and Mike Levine. The group built its reputation on hard rock, heavy metal, and progressive rock-influenced songs, and became known in the late 1970s and 1980s for guitar-driven material such as “Lay It on the Line,” “Magic Power,” “Fight the Good Fight,” and “World of Fantasy.” The band is also noted for its live performances, which were central to its success and helped establish its arena-rock profile. Triumph released its self-titled debut in 1976 and went on to issue multiple albums and DVDs, earning gold and platinum certifications in Canada and the United States. The current touring configuration has included Rik Emmett and Gil Moore with Phil X, Brent Fitz, and Todd Kerns.
