Truman Sinclair, born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, began playing in bands at age 8 in the emo and metal scenes. At 14, he moved to Los Angeles, where he developed an interest in folk music and songwriting alongside his emo pursuits. In 2019, he formed the emo band Frat Mouse, which released four albums and performed over 300 shows on local venues and DIY tours. Sinclair produced and recorded Frat Mouse albums in his bedroom, honing skills that extended to engineering for local LA artists. His solo work shifts to folk, highlighted by the 2025 debut album American Recordings, self-produced and featuring tracks like 'Chicago Flood' and 'Joel Roberts'. Prior EPs include Pale Moon Pale Horse (2024) and Friends & Family & Enemies (2023). Live, Sinclair delivers laidback folk sets, contrasting his energetic Frat Mouse performances where he plays lead guitar.
