Wasteland is a Western Australian electronic music producer and DJ, the moniker of Matt Riley. Riley began DJing at age 19 after witnessing a performance that inspired him to pursue music production. Over his career, he has released music on labels including Cr2 Records, Fuze Records, One Love, and Central Station Records, establishing himself as a versatile producer working across electronic and pop genres. Riley has expanded his creative output beyond production to include songwriting and visual direction. His 2016 single "Tail Lights" was released on Central Station Records, followed by the collaborative track "Paper Towns" with Australian-Norwegian singer Mileo. The latter was co-written with The Banton Brothers and explores themes of small-town nostalgia and urban displacement. Riley continues to refine his production approach while exploring songwriting and self-directed visual content.
