Wet Leg is an English alternative rock band formed in 2019 on the Isle of Wight by Rhian Teasdale (vocals, guitar) and Hester Chambers (guitar). The lineup expanded to include Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums), and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar, keyboards). They signed to Domino Records in late 2020 after developing material as a hobby project. The band's debut single 'Chaise Longue' was released in June 2021, gaining attention through streaming and TikTok. Their self-titled debut album arrived in April 2022, topping the UK Albums Chart and Australia's ARIA Albums Chart. It earned a 2022 Mercury Prize shortlist, two Grammy wins in 2023 (Best Alternative Music Album and Best Alternative Music Performance for 'Chaise Longue'), a Best New Artist nomination, and Brit Awards for Best New Artist and Best British Group. Wet Leg's live shows feature raw, energetic performances built through extensive touring, capturing the band's post-punk-infused sound with witty, self-aware lyrics.
