Yandel (Llandel Veguilla Malavé) is a Puerto Rican reggaeton artist born January 14, 1977, in Cayey, Puerto Rico. He rose to prominence in the late 1990s as one half of the reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel, which achieved international success following their 2000 debut album Los Reyes del Nuevo Milenio. The duo's 2005 album Pa'l Mundo marked their mainstream breakthrough and established them as leaders in reggaeton. Wisin & Yandel won Grammy Awards and multiple Latin Grammy Awards, and founded their own label, WY Records. After the duo separated in 2013, Yandel pursued a solo career, releasing albums including De Líder a Leyenda (2013) and Dangerous (2019). Wisin and Yandel reunited in 2018 and have continued performing together. Yandel's work blends reggaeton with hip-hop, R&B, and pop influences, and he signed with Roc Nation in 2019, becoming the first Puerto Rican artist to secure a major management deal with the company.
