Zayn Malik, born Zain Javadd Malik on January 12, 1993, in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, rose to prominence as a member of One Direction. Formed on The X Factor in 2010 after individual auditions, the group achieved global success with four number-one albums before Malik left in March 2015 to pursue a solo career. He signed with RCA Records and relocated to Los Angeles. Transitioning to alternative R&B, Malik released his debut solo album Mind of Mine in 2016, which topped the Billboard 200 and UK charts; its lead single 'Pillowtalk' also debuted at number one in both countries, making him the first British male artist to achieve this milestone. Follow-up releases include Icarus Falls (2018) and singles like 'I Don't Wanna Live Forever' with Taylor Swift and 'Dusk Till Dawn' featuring Sia. He has won an American Music Award and MTV Video Music Award. Malik's live performances emphasize vocal delivery in intimate settings, drawing from his R&B influences.
