Escape Halloween, San Bernardino Festival
Escape is Insomniac's Halloween festival, and it plays the holiday to the hilt. Every year over Halloween weekend the NOS Events Center in San Bernardino is transformed into a horror-themed playground, haunted set pieces, costumed crowds, and a production that leans hard into the season's darkness. Musically it's one of the heavier entries on Insomniac's SoCal calendar, with bass, dubstep, and harder electronic sounds sharing the bill with mainstage house and trance across two nights. If Beyond is the bright spring dream, Escape is its shadow: the same scale and spectacle, turned toward the macabre. It's become one of the defining ways Southern California's dance community marks Halloween.
