Just Like Heaven is Goldenvoice's one-day indie nostalgia festival, and it is narrow on purpose. Rather than chase current headliners, the bill gathers bands from the 2000s and 2010s indie, dance-punk and emo waves and asks them to play the records people actually remember. It debuted across two days in May 2019 at Queen Mary Events Park in Long Beach, with Phoenix, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, MGMT and Beach House, after the first day sold out fast enough to force a second. It now runs annually at Brookside, the grounds beside the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The 2026 edition lands on August 22 with The Strokes and LCD Soundsystem at the top of the bill and Dayglow underneath. Two stages, one day, no camping. Past lineups have pulled in Death Cab for Cutie, The Walkmen, Washed Out, The Rapture, Passion Pit and Miike Snow, which tells you the assignment: if you had the record in college, the band is eligible. Despite the name, it has no connection to The Cure beyond the borrowed song title.
