Luckman Fine Arts Complex - Los Angeles, CA | Concert Schedule

The Luckman Fine Arts Complex stands as a modernist architectural gem on the Cal State LA campus, designed by renowned architect Arthur Erickson with clean lines, geometric shapes, and abundant natural light. Established in 1994 through a generous gift from Harriet and Charles Luckman, former university president and prominent architect, the complex honors its namesake while serving as a cultural bridge between students and East Los Angeles communities. Its flagship Luckman Theatre, a proscenium-style space with 1,152 seats (configurable to 624 or 500 for intimacy), boasts premier acoustics, excellent sightlines from every seat, and a 48-foot-wide stage ideal for world music concerts, legendary jazz, contemporary dance, lectures, and theatrical productions. Complementing the main hall, the reconfigurable black-box Intimate Theatre offers versatile staging, while an outdoor amphitheatre and sculpture park plaza host open-air events. The Visual Arts Gallery provides 3,600 square feet for exhibitions with professional lighting and curatorial support. Known for hosting the acclaimed Luckman Jazz Orchestra and diverse programming, from film festivals to presidential forums, this venue delivers an immersive, professional experience in the vibrant El Sereno neighborhood, enhanced by on-site parking and AV capabilities.
