Sid The Cat Auditorium - South Pasadena, CA | Concert Schedule

Sid The Cat Auditorium is an intimate 500-capacity live music venue housed in the restored east wing of the former South Pasadena Elementary School, built in 1931 and decommissioned in 1979. This historic auditorium showcases rediscovered ceiling murals by WPA artist Lucile Lloyd, blending preserved art deco architecture with modern upgrades like a state-of-the-art L-Acoustics sound system designed by Ratsound. The 35x21-foot proscenium stage supports diverse programming, from quiet sets by Jonathan Richman to loud shoegaze performances, all enhanced by rider-friendly monitors and subs. Tucked in the heart of downtown South Pasadena, the venue fosters a vibrant, community-driven atmosphere in the San Gabriel Valley's first new mid-sized room in over 40 years. Connected by a covered arcade and expansive patio, the main auditorium pairs with Sid’s Bar in an original classroom, offering nightly DJs, full alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, ample bathrooms, and easy access via Metro A-Line or the 110 Freeway. As the permanent home of independent promoter Sid The Cat, known for early shows with Phoebe Bridgers and Fiona Apple. It champions national and local indie acts in a fiercely grassroots space. Unique features like a truck loading dock, gigantic outdoor parking, and all-ages policy set it apart, celebrating music with sports-like reverence amid L.A.'s corporate landscape.
