Soda Bar is an intimate club on the border of North Park and City Heights, opened in 2008 with a capacity around 230-250, perfect for up-close live music experiences. Acquired in 2018 by The Casbah's Tim Mays and team, it blends bar vibes with high-energy performances, hosting local, regional, and national acts seven nights a week. Indie darlings like Phoebe Bridgers, Angel Olsen, Kamasi Washington, and The War On Drugs have lit up its stage, alongside recent bookings such as Planet Booty and Julianna Riolino. The vibe pulses with San Diego's underground spirit: a 21+ haven where grunge pioneers like Mudhoney and Meat Puppets deliver raw sets in a snug space that keeps sound crisp and crowds electric. No frills, just stellar acoustics and a packed calendar fostering discovery of tomorrow's headliners amid the neighborhood's eclectic energy.
